MSPP Administrative Directory
Dean Montgomery came to Georgetown in 2010 after serving as the Executive Director of the White House Council for Auto Communities and Workers under President Obama. Dean Montgomery also served in the Department of Labor during the Clinton Administration and as Dean of the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences at the University of Maryland. He studies labor economics and has a Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University.
Associate Dean for Academic Affairs
Dr. Hill began as Associate Dean in 2011. She works with all of MSPP’s academic programs and serves as a liaison for both students and faculty. Her research focuses on whether and why public programs are effective, and how they can be improved. Dr. Hill joined GPPI in 2001 and has a Ph.D. in Public Policy from the University of Chicago.
Associate Dean for Finance and Administration
Mr. Sirjue came to Georgetown in 2011 after more than 20 years in finance and administration at Howard University. Beginning in 2002, Dean served a 4 year appointment as a member of the Prince George's County Board of Education, the second largest school district in the state of Maryland. He oversees the administration of MSPP and works closely with both staff and students. He has an MBA from the Howard School of Business and has extensive experience in the Accounting field.
MPP Faculty Director
Dr. Schone serves as the Academic Director of MSPP’s MPP programs. In addition, she teaches courses in the core curriculum and in health policy. Her research focuses primarily on the economics of the family, the employment-related health insurance market and the economics of obesity. Dr. Schone has been affiliated with Georgetown since 1998 and has a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Virginia..
MIDP Faculty Director
Dr. Wiebe serves as the Academic Director of MSPP’s new Master in International Development Policy program, and hosts the biweekly "Development Practitioners" series that provides access for students to development professionals engaged in frontline applied research and program implemention. Dr. Wiebe joined the University in 2012 after six years as Chief Economist at the Millennium Challenge Corporation, where he managed the economic analysis and monitoring and evaluation functions and contributed to the Presidential Policy Directive on Development in 2010. Dr. Wiebe has worked extensively in Bangladesh and Indonesia, and has graduate degrees from Northwestern and Harvard Universities and a Ph.D. in Development Economics from Stanford University.
MPM Faculty Director
Dr. Ross serves as the Academic Director of MSPP’s MPM programs. She teaches for both MSPP and Georgetown's Government Department. She worked for the federal government for almost 15 years, most recently at the Office of Management and Budget, before returning to academe. She holds an MPA from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University and a Ph.D. in Government from Georgetown University.
Executive Director, Executive Education
Dr. Erika Falk joined MSPP in 2013 and heads our executive education efforts. She previously was director of programs and research for the College Excellence Program at the Aspen Institute and a program director at Johns Hopkins University. She is the author of Becoming a New Instructor, a book that guides teachers through planning and executing their first course. She earned her PhD from the University of Pennsylvania.
Assistant Dean, Academic and Student Affairs
Ms. Evertz returned to Georgetown in 2013 after working at the Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School for 2 years. Prior to that, she served as the Director of Academic & Student Services at GPPI. She has also worked in academic and student support services at the University of California-Berkeley, the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, and New York University. She holds an MA in Higher Education Administration from New York University.
